Dr. Kent Taylor received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and his Doctor of Medicine (With Honours) degrees from University of Toronto.
After completing his Straight internship in Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital in 1982, he did 3 years of Dermatology Residency training at the University of Toronto, finishing the last year as Chief Resident in Dermatology at the University of Toronto in 1985. This was followed by a 6 month appointment as Lecturer in Dermatology on staff at Toronto General Hospital.
Dr. Taylor was instrumental in helping to launch the new hair restoration product “Rogaine” into the Canadian market in 1986 and was a guest on TV and radio, across the country as Upjohn’s medical hair loss expert. He has subsequently done multiple TV and radio appearances over the years discussing a variety of Dermatology topics, and as well has published several Dermatology articles in medical journals.
In 1986 he started a private practice in Burlington ON and was on staff as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at McMaster University, a position he held until 1994.
In 1993, for 1 year, he became co-director of the vein treatment clinic at McMaster University along with Dr. Geoff Evans.
Dr. Taylor did a 1 month preceptorship in Australia with Dr. Mario Marzola in Hair Transplantation in 1994, and a hands on course in tumescent liposuction in 1995 with Dr. Jeffery Klein in San Diego. The same year, in 1995, he finished a hands-on CO2 laser resurfacing course at Harvard University.
In 2010 he moved his practice to Oakville and has practiced there exclusively for almost 14 years.
He has a special interest in skin cancer prevention, detection and surgical removal, as well as cosmetic surgical mole removal, laser removal of signs of aging skin, and acne scar revision.
Dr. Taylor lives with his wife, a corporate securities lawyer, in Oakville and enjoys reading, running, travel, and spending time with friends and family.
